Tailor a resume to a job posting
When to use this goal
For students who have a basic resume (fn-tr-009) and send the same version to every job. Present levels in reading postings and editing documents decide the supports.
- Baseline
- Score one revision for a posting. Watch for claims that are not true of the student; tailoring means choosing and wording real experience.
- Tips
- Builds on fn-tr-009, which covers the base resume. Keep every version in one folder so the student can reuse them.
- Limits
- Scores the edit, not whether the resume gets a callback. Small entry-level jobs may not need much tailoring.
