Compare colleges or programs on a checklist
When to use this goal
For high school students who plan on college or training after graduation but have looked only at one school, often the one a friend chose. Present levels in reading and web research decide whether the facts are found by the student or given on fact sheets.
- Baseline
- Score one comparison of two programs with the checklist only. Note which rows are blank; support services and cost are the facts students most often skip.
- Tips
- Include community colleges, trade schools, apprenticeship programs and inclusive postsecondary programs when they fit the student's plans. Share the comparison with the family before visits. Pair with tn-ce-005 when the student is still choosing a training path.
- Limits
- Website facts change each year. A comparison on paper does not replace a visit (tn-pse-021).
