Ask a campus office for information

9-12OpportunitiesTemplateReview and individualize before use. How templates are made
When to use this goal

For students applying to or starting college or training who wait for information instead of asking admissions, financial aid or accessibility services. Present levels in phone and email skills (fn-tr-013, tn-pse-012) decide the mode.

Baseline
Use 5 questions (real ones first, practice to fill in). Count a contact when the student reached the right office, asked a clear question and recorded the answer.
Tips
Students 18 and older speak for themselves with colleges, which often will not talk to parents without the student's consent. Pair with tn-pse-030 for choosing the right office.
Limits
Offices may be slow to reply. Counts asking, not the quality of the answer.

Goal

By the annual IEP review date, when the student has a real question for a college office, such as admissions, financial aid or accessibility services, the student will contact the right office by phone, email or in person, ask the question and record the answer independently in at least 4 of 5 opportunities, across 3 consecutive data collection periods, as measured by opportunity-by-opportunity data collected at each real or practice contact, summarized monthly.
