Prepare for own IEP meeting
When to use this goal
For middle school students attending their IEP meeting for the first few times who arrive with nothing to say. Present levels in communication decide whether the sheet is written, typed or built with pictures and a device.
- Baseline
- Score a practice sheet before the meeting season. Note sections left blank and whether answers are the student's words.
- Tips
- Bring the sheet to the meeting and give the student time to share it. This builds toward leading the meeting (fn-tr-007). Families can complete a matching sheet at home.
- Limits
- Annual meetings are rare; practice sheets provide most data. Scores the preparation, not what the student says in the meeting (see tn-sd-040).
