Follow a peer conversation and add a comment
When to use this goal
For students who are hard of hearing who drop out of fast peer conversations at lunch, in clubs, or in group work. Present levels from observation and from the student's own report decide fit.
- Baseline
- Observe five conversations (or use the student's self-report) and record whether the student joined on topic. Ask the student which groups are hardest.
- Tips
- Checking the topic with a peer is a strong strategy. The student chooses which social settings to target.
- Limits
- Social goals depend on peers too. The template measures listening for a student whose family chose listening as one route; it never replaces sign language or captions the student also uses.

- Record up to 5 opportunities per session, matching the goal's denominator.
- Define in advance what counts as an opportunity so every data collector records the same thing.
- Count only + marks toward the criterion unless the goal specifies prompted responses.
