Reply to school or work emails promptly

When to use this goal

For older students who check email rarely and miss replies that teachers, counselors or employers need. Present levels in writing a complete email (ca-dig-014) show readiness.

Baseline
Ask staff to send five emails over two weeks that need a reply. Record the time sent and the time replied, and whether the reply answers the question.
Tips
Planned emails from staff create the opportunities. Phone mail apps with notifications help. Link to job-seeking goals, since employers judge email response time.
Limits
Depends on staff sending emails that need replies. The goal does not score email quality beyond answering.
