Meet syllabus deadlines in a college course

9-12OpportunitiesTemplateReview and individualize before use. How templates are made
When to use this goal

For high school students in dual-enrollment or college courses who must manage deadlines from a syllabus without reminders. Present levels, not grade, decide fit.

Baseline
Review the first month of syllabus deadlines with the student and count assignments submitted on time. Ask how they track due dates now and what reminders, if any, the instructor sends.
Tips
College disability services offer accommodations only after the student registers; help them register before the course starts. Entering every syllabus date in the phone calendar in week one is the key habit. Fade the case manager check to monthly.
Limits
College instructors may not share grades with the high school; the student shares their own course page. Late penalties and policies differ from high school, which can surprise students.
