Wait for the full question in an interview
When to use this goal
For high school and transition students who start answering before a question is finished in interviews, meetings, or with customers. Present levels decide fit.
- Baseline
- Record 10 questions in a mock interview and note answers started early. Write an operational definition first (what counts as the impulsive response and what counts as using the strategy), and teach and practice the strategy before measuring it.
- Tips
- Each question is one opportunity. Video practice helps the student see their pacing.
- Limits
- Mock interviews differ from real ones.

- Record up to 10 opportunities per session, matching the goal's denominator.
- Define in advance what counts as an opportunity so every data collector records the same thing.
- Count only + marks toward the criterion unless the goal specifies prompted responses.
