Put work materials in their labeled bins

6-8, 9-12, 3-5OpportunitiesTemplateReview and individualize before use. How templates are made
When to use this goal

For students with significant support needs who leave materials scattered after work and wait for staff to put them away. Labels should match how the student reads: words, photos, or symbols. Present levels, not grade, decide the number of bins; keep labels age-matched.

Baseline
Count each item to put away as an opportunity over several sessions. Record the prompt level for each: independent, point, or physical help.
Tips
Use a least-to-most prompt order. Keep the bins in the same place every day. As the student gets faster, add bins or mixed materials.
Limits
Measures putting away, not getting out. New materials will need new labels and practice.

Goal

By the annual IEP review date, at the end of a work session at the student's work area with labeled bins, the student will place each material in the bin with its matching label independently in at least 7 of 8 opportunities, on 4 of 5 consecutive school days, as measured by opportunity-by-opportunity data collected daily.

Baseline: 2 of 8 opportunities.

  • Met: Observable behavior. Stated as an action.

  • Met: Condition. Stated.

  • Met: Unit fits the behavior. Opportunities fits this behavior.

  • Met: Explicit criterion. Number and unit stated.

  • Met: Mastery rule and schedule. Both stated.

  • Met: Method produces the metric. Opportunity (trial) recording gives opportunities data.

  • Met: Review timeframe. Stated.

  • Met: Baseline and target compatible. Same unit, change in the right direction.

  • Met: Aligned with area of need. Still about Organization.

  • Met: Level of support. Defined.

  • Met: Blanks filled in. Nothing left to fill in.
