Pick and schedule choice board tasks
When to use this goal
For students who freeze or choose too many tasks when given a choice board for a unit. Present levels, not grade, decide the number of choices.
- Baseline
- Look at the last few choice boards: did the student pick and plan? Score planning, not completion.
- Tips
- The written plan is the record. Pair with a completion goal for follow-through. Choice boards build ownership.
- Limits
- Choice boards are not used in every class. Does not measure completing the tasks.

- Record up to 5 opportunities per session, matching the goal's denominator.
- Define in advance what counts as an opportunity so every data collector records the same thing.
- Count only + marks toward the criterion unless the goal specifies prompted responses.
