Self-check a routine with a picture checklist

PK, K-2OpportunitiesTemplateReview and individualize before use. How templates are made
When to use this goal

For children whose present levels show routines (hand washing, snack cleanup, getting ready to go home) finished with steps missing, and who can match pictures to actions. Present levels decide the routine and steps.

Baseline
Observe the routine for a week with the checklist posted and record whether the child used the checklist and whether missed steps were then completed. Note which step is missed most.
Tips
Each routine is one opportunity. Met means the child goes through every picture and completes any missed step without an adult pointing. The checklist is a self-check, not instructions; the routine should be known first. Four pictures is enough for most young children.
Limits
Children may touch pictures without checking the actions; watch whether a missed step gets done. Posted checklists must be visible at the station.

Goal

By the annual IEP review date, after completing a classroom routine with a 4-picture checklist posted at the station, the student will touch or mark each picture on the checklist and complete any step not yet done independently in at least 4 of 5 opportunities, across 3 consecutive weeks, as measured by direct observation collected daily during the routine and summarized weekly.

Baseline: 1 of 5 opportunities.
