Answer review questions from a picture study guide
When to use this goal
For students with significant support needs in content classes who take adapted unit tests and need a study tool they can use with little reading. Materials stay age-matched: real photos and diagrams, not cartoons. Present levels, not grade, decide the number of questions.
- Baseline
- Ask the review questions once without the guide and once with it to see how much the guide helps. Record the response mode the student used.
- Tips
- Accept any response mode, including AAC. Build the guide with the content teacher so it covers what the adapted test covers. The student can take the guide home to share the unit with family.
- Limits
- Measures use of the guide for review, not long-term retention. Questions must closely match the guide.

Goal
By the annual IEP review date, given a picture-supported study guide of 6 to 10 key facts from the current science or social studies unit, the student will answer review questions by pointing to, saying, or writing the matching fact from the picture study guide independently with at least 80% accuracy on review questions, on 3 of 4 consecutive review sessions, as measured by opportunity-by-opportunity data collected twice weekly.

Met: Observable behavior. Stated as an action.
Met: Condition. Stated.
Met: Unit fits the behavior. Percent accuracy fits this behavior.
Met: Explicit criterion. Number and unit stated.
Met: Mastery rule and schedule. Both stated.
Met: Method produces the metric. Opportunity (trial) recording gives percent accuracy data.
Met: Review timeframe. Stated.
Met: Baseline and target compatible. Same unit, change in the right direction.
Met: Aligned with area of need. Still about Study & Test-Taking Skills.
Met: Level of support. Defined.
Met: Blanks filled in. Nothing left to fill in.
Checks structure and wording only. Whether the goal fits the student is the team's call.

- Score only items the student attempted unless the goal defines a fixed set of items. Use the same denominator every session.
- Percent = numerator ÷ denominator × 100. Round to one decimal place.
- Record the support actually provided, even if the goal is independent performance.
