Clock in on time at the work-based learning site

9-12OpportunitiesTemplateReview and individualize before use. How templates are made
When to use this goal

For transition-age students in work-based learning whose present levels show late arrivals or forgotten shifts. For students who travel to the site with or without support.

Baseline
Use the site's time records or the job coach's log for the last ten shifts. Separate late arrivals from no-shows; a no-show usually means the schedule was not planned, which ef-pl-017 addresses.
Tips
Each scheduled shift is one opportunity. Met means checked in by the start time. Transportation problems outside the student's control are noted and excluded by agreement with the site. Have the student keep their own record too.
Limits
Shifts may be few per week. Depends on the site keeping time records. Does not measure performance once on the job.

Goal

By the annual IEP review date, on scheduled work days at a work-based learning site, the student will clock in or check in with the supervisor at or before the shift start time independently in at least 9 of 10 opportunities, across 3 consecutive months, as measured by opportunity-by-opportunity data collected each shift and summarized monthly.

Baseline: 5 of 10 opportunities.

  • Met: Observable behavior. Stated as an action.

  • Met: Condition. Stated.

  • Met: Unit fits the behavior. Opportunities fits this behavior.

  • Met: Explicit criterion. Number and unit stated.

  • Met: Mastery rule and schedule. Both stated.

  • Met: Method produces the metric. Opportunity (trial) recording gives opportunities data.

  • Met: Review timeframe. Stated.

  • Met: Baseline and target compatible. Same unit, change in the right direction.

  • Met: Aligned with area of need. Still about Time Management.

  • Met: Level of support. Defined.

  • Met: Blanks filled in. Nothing left to fill in.

Checks structure and wording only. Whether the goal fits the student is the team's call.
