Add travel time between commitments
When to use this goal
For older students who schedule things back to back (school ends at 3:00, work starts at 3:00) and are late. Present levels, not grade, decide fit.
- Baseline
- Look at the last two weeks of the student's calendar together and count commitments in different places entered back to back with no travel time. Ask how many times the student was late.
- Tips
- Map and transit apps give travel times; teach the student to check them and add 10 minutes as a buffer. The calendar is the record, so the weekly check takes a few minutes. Count each new commitment in a different place as one opportunity.
- Limits
- Planning travel time does not guarantee arriving on time; track arrivals separately if lateness is the concern. Students who rely on family rides also depend on the driver's schedule.

- Record up to 6 opportunities per session, matching the goal's denominator.
- Define in advance what counts as an opportunity so every data collector records the same thing.
- Count only + marks toward the criterion unless the goal specifies prompted responses.
