Go to the meeting spot when separated

When to use this goal

For older students who go to large venues (a stadium, a fair, a mall) with family or staff and do not know what to do if separated. Present levels in remembering a planned spot and in using a phone decide fit. The plan is set at the start of every outing.

Baseline
Run 4 planned separations (staff out of view but watching) across 2 outings. Count correct when the student reached the spot and checked in by phone. Every separation must end safely, so the target is all four.
Tips
Pick meeting spots that do not move (an entrance, a large sign), and photograph them. Add the group leader's number as a favorite. Families can use location sharing if they choose.
Limits
Practice separations are short and calm. Students without a phone need a help card and the fn-cs-029 plan.

Original IEP Atlas template based on general measurement principles; not copied from any goal bank. ID fn-cs-039.

Goal

By the annual IEP review date, during a community outing to a large venue, after the meeting spot is chosen at arrival, the student will go to the agreed meeting spot and call or text the group leader when separated independently in 4 of 4 opportunities, across 2 consecutive outings, as measured by direct observation collected at each outing to a large venue, with planned practice.
