Change period products on a set schedule

When to use this goal

For older students who can change a pad or other product (fn-dl-041) but forget to change it during the school or work day, leading to leaks. Present levels in reading a schedule or responding to phone alerts decide fit; the family and student choose the product and the schedule.

Baseline
During one period, record each planned change time and whether the student went and changed the product, by self-report on a private card plus a check of supplies used. Note any leaks reported.
Tips
Plan times with the student around class and work breaks, usually every 3 to 4 hours. Keep supplies and spare underwear at school or work. Self-report is a fine data source here; the student owns this routine.
Limits
Opportunities come only during periods. Does not address cramps or heavy bleeding, which belong with the nurse and family.

Goal
