Return the home-school folder each morning

PK, K-2, 3-5OpportunitiesTemplateReview and individualize before use. How templates are made
When to use this goal

For students whose folder stays in the backpack or at home, so notes and homework never reach the teacher. Check with the family first: if the folder is not coming back because of a home routine, that is a family-partnership step, not a student goal. Base the choice on the family's report.

Baseline
For 2 weeks, record each morning whether the folder reached the tray without a prompt, after a prompt, or not at all, and whether it was in the backpack at all. Separate the days the folder was not in the backpack; those are not opportunities for the student.
Tips
Count an opportunity only when the folder is in the backpack. A bright folder color and a fixed spot in the backpack help. Share the data with the family so school and home work on the same routine.
Limits
Does not measure whether the student reads or shares the notes inside. Absences and late arrivals reduce the number of weekly opportunities; use the days present.
