Find the class when it meets elsewhere
When to use this goal
For middle school students who go to the usual room and wait there, or wander, when a class meets in the library, a lab, or another room. Present levels decide fit, not grade. Accepting the change is a cognitive flexibility goal; this one covers getting to the new room.
- Baseline
- Ask teachers to log each room change for a grading period and whether the student arrived on time. Room changes are uneven; plan a few practice changes if real ones are rare.
- Tips
- Agree on where room changes are posted, the same place every time. Score an opportunity as met when the student arrives before the bell. Teach the student to ask the front office when no notice is posted.
- Limits
- Opportunities are few and irregular, so progress shows slowly. Does not measure how the student handles the change emotionally.

- Record up to 4 opportunities per session, matching the goal's denominator.
- Define in advance what counts as an opportunity so every data collector records the same thing.
- Count only + marks toward the criterion unless the goal specifies prompted responses.
