Clean and restock a public restroom
When to use this goal
For students in custodial or hospitality placements who clean some surfaces but miss restocking or do things in an order that spreads germs. Present levels in sequencing decide supports.
- Baseline
- Observe the routine on at least 3 shifts before setting a target. Mark each step as independent (no supervisor prompt of any kind), completed with support (note the prompt type), or not completed. Count only independent steps toward the baseline, and note which steps are missed most often; those may need direct teaching rather than more practice.
- Tips
- Keep chemicals and tools color-coded by area as the site requires. Respect the student's preferences; some students find restroom work unpleasant, and a job tryout can show that.
- Limits
- Quality of cleaning is not scored; add a supervisor check. Sites differ in chemicals and rules.

- Write the date at the top of each session column. Mark each step I, S, or N.
- Total the number of I marks for the session. The goal counts steps completed independently (target: 8 of 9).
- Use the least intrusive prompt first and record the prompt actually needed.
