Mix cleaning solution using the label directions
When to use this goal
For students in custodial, kitchen or hospitality placements who will mix or refill cleaning solutions. Present levels in reading labels and measuring decide whether a dispenser station or a marked bottle is used. Safety makes every mix the standard.
- Baseline
- Practice with water first. A mix counts only when gloves and goggles are on, the amount is right and the bottle is labeled. Never let the student mix two chemicals.
- Tips
- Safety data sheets and the site's rules set the standard. Students should know never to mix products. The supervisor approves the student to mix on their own.
- Limits
- Does not replace the site's safety training. Real mixes may be rare at sites with automatic dispensers.

Goal
By the annual IEP review date, when a spray bottle or bucket needs cleaning solution, at the site's chemical station with posted directions, the student will mix the solution at the strength on the label, using gloves and goggles, and label the bottle independently in 5 of 5 opportunities, across 3 consecutive data collection periods, as measured by direct observation collected at each mix, summarized weekly.
Baseline: 2 of 5 opportunities.

- Record up to 5 opportunities per session, matching the goal's denominator.
- Define in advance what counts as an opportunity so every data collector records the same thing.
- Count only + marks toward the criterion unless the goal specifies prompted responses.
