Pack items into a box so they fit
When to use this goal
For students who pack by stuffing items in and run out of room, in school jobs, at home or at work. Present levels in comparing sizes and in turning objects decide readiness.
- Baseline
- An opportunity is one box. Score it when everything fits and the box closes without forcing.
- Tips
- Real tasks (packing a backpack, a lunch, a shipping box) make this practical. Coordinate with the job coach.
- Limits
- Packing rules at job sites (heavy items at the bottom) add steps; include them as needed.

Goal
By the annual IEP review date, given a box or bin and 6 to 12 items of different sizes that fit only when arranged well, the student will place the largest items first, turn items to fill gaps, and close the box with every item inside independently in at least 4 of 5 opportunities, on 3 of 4 consecutive sessions, as measured by direct observation collected weekly.

- Record up to 5 opportunities per session, matching the goal's denominator.
- Define in advance what counts as an opportunity so every data collector records the same thing.
- Count only + marks toward the criterion unless the goal specifies prompted responses.
