Slide sideways in both directions on a rubric
When to use this goal
For students who cross their feet, turn to face forward, or lose rhythm when asked to slide sideways, a movement used in defense in many games and in dance. Fit depends on scoring the slide, not grade.
- Baseline
- Score both directions; many students slide well to one side only. Record the weaker side in present levels.
- Tips
- Holding a hoop with a partner keeps the body turned. Music helps rhythm. This skill links straight to game play in basketball and soccer units.
- Limits
- Scored in short trials; game use may differ. Rubric scores need a shared scoring guide.
