Hand off a relay baton in the zone
When to use this goal
For students on a track or unified relay team who drop the baton, stop to hand it off, or pass outside the zone. Fit depends on practice observation, not grade.
- Baseline
- Score five exchanges per practice: clean in the zone, dropped, or outside the zone. Start at a walk if needed.
- Tips
- Relays are a natural team role in unified track. Practice both giving and taking.
- Limits
- Depends on a teammate; practice with the same partner first.

- Record up to 5 opportunities per session, matching the goal's denominator.
- Define in advance what counts as an opportunity so every data collector records the same thing.
- Count only + marks toward the criterion unless the goal specifies prompted responses.
