Attend a club and interact with a peer at each meeting
When to use this goal
For students who have no peer contact outside class and have an interest a school club matches. Base the choice on the student's interests and transportation realities. The interaction can be any mode and as small as a comment or a shared task.
- Baseline
- With the student, list clubs that match their interests and check logistics. Attend or get a report on the first 2 meetings: did the student attend, and was there any peer interaction? Ask the club sponsor to note interactions on a simple form.
- Tips
- Each meeting is an opportunity. Score correct when the student attends and at least one peer interaction is observed or reported by the sponsor. Interest in the club's activity is the main support; let the student choose. Prepare the sponsor to include the student without singling them out.
- Limits
- Monthly data are sparse; interpret trends over a semester. Sponsor reports vary in reliability; a one-line form helps. Transportation, cost, and family schedules can block attendance for reasons unrelated to skill.

- Record up to 4 opportunities per session, matching the goal's denominator.
- Define in advance what counts as an opportunity so every data collector records the same thing.
- Count only + marks toward the criterion unless the goal specifies prompted responses.
