Spot signs of a healthy friendship

6-8, 9-12Percent accuracyTemplateReview and individualize before use. How templates are made
When to use this goal

For students who stay in friendships where they are used, mocked, or pressured, or who are unsure what a good friend does. Present levels decide fit.

Baseline
Use 10 scenarios with a mix of healthy and unhealthy signs. Score each judgment and reason.
Tips
The student decides which friendships to keep; the goal gives tools, not rules. Talk about friendships only when the student is willing.
Limits
Scenario answers do not show changes in real friendships. Students being exploited need adult protection and follow-up through school procedures.

Goal

By the annual IEP review date, given 10 short scenarios of friend behavior at school and online (such as sharing, keeping plans, making fun, pressuring), the student will say whether each behavior is a sign of a healthy or unhealthy friendship and give a reason independently with at least 90% accuracy on friendship scenarios, in 3 of 4 consecutive weekly probes, as measured by opportunity-by-opportunity data collected weekly.

Baseline: 50% accuracy.

  • Met: Observable behavior. Stated as an action.

  • Met: Condition. Stated.

  • Met: Unit fits the behavior. Percent accuracy fits this behavior.

  • Met: Explicit criterion. Number and unit stated.

  • Met: Mastery rule and schedule. Both stated.

  • Met: Method produces the metric. Opportunity (trial) recording gives percent accuracy data.

  • Met: Baseline and target compatible. Same unit, change in the right direction.
