Call the teacher into a virtual breakout room for help

3-5, 6-8OpportunitiesTemplateReview and individualize before use. How templates are made
When to use this goal

For students who get stuck in virtual breakout rooms and stay silent until the room closes, because the teacher is not there to notice. Present levels in online tools and help seeking decide fit. The request can be the platform's ask-for-help button, a chat to the host, or a group member asking with the student's agreement.

Baseline
Review 3 or 4 breakout rooms and note when the group was stuck (from the room recording, chat, or the teacher's visit) and whether anyone asked for help. Check that the student can find and use the help button on their device.
Tips
An opportunity is a time the group or the student is stuck on the task. Score correct when the student sends the request or clearly agrees to a group member sending it. Answer every help call quickly. Different from se-rh-022, which covers the main virtual class; this one covers rooms with no adult.
Limits
It is hard to see stuck moments without recordings; use teacher visits and chat logs. Some platforms do not have a help button; use a chat message instead.

Goal

By the annual IEP review date, during a virtual breakout room task when the group cannot go on, the student will use the platform's ask-for-help button or send a chat to the teacher and say what the group needs independently in at least 3 of 4 opportunities, across 3 consecutive weeks, as measured by opportunity-by-opportunity data collected weekly.
