Ask prepared questions on a workplace tour

6-8, 9-12OpportunitiesTemplateReview and individualize before use. How templates are made
When to use this goal

For students who prepare questions but stay silent during tours or visits. Present levels in communication and comfort with unfamiliar adults decide whether questions are spoken, read from a card or played on a device.

Baseline
Treat each question on the card as one opportunity, up to 5, on the first tour. Record whether the student asked it, whether the answer was recorded, and whether a staff signal was needed.
Tips
Ask the host ahead of time to leave time for student questions. Virtual visits are a good place to start for students who are anxious in person. Answers feed the visit report in tn-ce-009.
Limits
Tours vary in how much time hosts allow. Asking from a card is a step toward the open conversation of an informational interview (tn-ce-008).
