Request a job shadow at a chosen workplace
When to use this goal
For high school students who have done shadows set up by staff and are ready to request one in an area they chose. Present levels in email or phone skills decide how the request is made.
- Baseline
- Observe the first request with the template only. Requests are infrequent; use practice requests to an approved school site to add data.
- Tips
- Use the district's work-based learning approval process; the coordinator handles agreements and safety. The shadow itself is reflected on with fn-tr-018 and prepared with tn-ce-006.
- Limits
- Hosts may say no or not reply; those requests still count for the request steps. Transportation may depend on adults.

- Write the date at the top of each session column. Mark each step I, S, or N.
- Total the number of I marks for the session. The goal counts steps completed independently (target: 6 of 7).
- Use the least intrusive prompt first and record the prompt actually needed.
