Ask library staff for a missing item

6-8, 9-12OpportunitiesTemplateReview and individualize before use. How templates are made
When to use this goal

For students who give up when a book is not where the catalog says, or who cannot find a resource. Present levels in communication and library skills, not grade, decide fit.

Baseline
Plan a few missing items with the librarian and record whether the student asks, gives up or keeps searching. Note what the student says.
Tips
A natural follow-up to finding a book with the catalog (tn-cs-002). Teach the student to show the catalog record on a phone or paper. Fade the help card once asking is routine.
Limits
Opportunities depend on items being missing; plan them with the librarian. Does not measure library browsing.

Original IEP Atlas template based on general measurement principles; not copied from any goal bank. ID tn-cs-017.
