Tell an adult about a strange pop-up

K-2, 3-5OpportunitiesTemplateReview and individualize before use. How templates are made
When to use this goal

For young students who click every pop-up, keep watching a video that upset them, or hide the screen instead of telling someone. Present levels in getting an adult's attention in class decide fit.

Baseline
Use a staged pop-up made by the teacher (a fake prize window, a chat request from an unknown name) that leads nowhere. Record whether the student clicks, ignores, or stops and tells. Never use real unsafe content.
Tips
Praise every report, even of harmless pop-ups, so telling stays safe. Families can use the same rule at home. Students who use AAC should have a tell an adult button ready.
Limits
Staged practice is easier than a real surprise. School filters reduce real exposure, so practice opportunities must be planned.

Goal

By the annual IEP review date, during a planned practice on a school device when a staged pop-up, chat request or scary image appears, the student will stop, take hands off the device or turn it face down, and tell or signal an adult about what appeared independently in 5 of 5 opportunities, across 3 consecutive weeks of data, as measured by opportunity-by-opportunity data collected weekly.
