Fill note gaps using the posted notes key
When to use this goal
For students who take notes but miss main points and do not notice what is missing. Fits classes where the teacher posts a slide deck, outline, or notes key after the lesson. Present levels decide how long the notes are.
- Baseline
- Pick five lessons with a posted key. Without coaching, have the student compare notes and fill gaps. Score each set met when every missing main point has been added. Count how many main points were missing before the check to show the student the value of the routine.
- Tips
- Each lesson's notes is one opportunity. The colored additions make scoring quick and show the student how their notes change over time. Pair with a note-taking goal in study skills if the notes themselves need structure.
- Limits
- Depends on teachers posting a key. Copying the whole key is not checking; count only added main points.

- Record up to 5 opportunities per session, matching the goal's denominator.
- Define in advance what counts as an opportunity so every data collector records the same thing.
- Count only + marks toward the criterion unless the goal specifies prompted responses.
