Text a peer to make weekend plans

9-12OpportunitiesTemplateReview and individualize before use. How templates are made
When to use this goal

For high school and transition students who have friends at school but never see them outside it because they do not make plans. Present levels and family approval decide fit. Texting or messaging is how most teens plan.

Baseline
Ask the student and family whether the student has made plans with friends recently and how. Practice with a staff member first. The student chooses whether to share messages.
Tips
Score each week as met when the student sent a specific invitation (activity, day, time), whether or not the friend said yes. Online safety rules apply.
Limits
Peers' answers are outside the student's control. Relies partly on the student's report.
