Step aside to blow the nose

6-8, 9-12OpportunitiesTemplateReview and individualize before use. How templates are made
When to use this goal

For older students who blow their nose loudly at the table, leave used tissues behind, or wipe on their sleeve at school or work. Present levels in leaving a group for a moment and coming back decide fit, not grade.

Baseline
Record a week of times the student needed to blow their nose in a group and which steps they did. Score met only when the tissue was thrown away and hands were cleaned.
Tips
Teach a short phrase such as excuse me. Practice the routine in a food-service or work setting where it matters most. Keep cues quiet and private.
Limits
Opportunities depend on season and illness. Norms differ across cultures and settings; agree with the student and family on what fits.
